People have been asking me for photos of our place. I have been delaying to put them as the walls are still pretty bare. Finally, I decided to get my lazy arse moving and did some postcards montage to liven up the place. So ta da~~ here are the photos!
Dining Area
We will be painting all our skirtings black in our living and dining area.

The “coffee table” shown in the 3rd photo is the brainchild of hb using his 2 old tyres and the extra black glass which the contractor left behind.
As usual, I feel the walls are very bare and have asked Hb to fill up the walls by using the canvas prints which I gave him.
Hb picked this golden matress set at the metro sales yesterday. He is pretty proud of it however I still prefer the red wine edition which I have brought for our upcoming wedding. With 35o threadcounts, it really feels cool and comfortable!
Some after-thoughts
Although we have not moved it, and only come back during certain weekends to clean up the place, here are some observations of the certain areas of our place:
Kitchen
1. I am thinking of using some decals on the glass to prevent people from walking into them.
2. The white solid top seems to stain easily.
3. The bellari hood and hub is very easy to use.
4. I still feel there is not enough storage space for our barangs barangs.
5. Our LG fridge is really good! My vege is still fresh after leaving it inside for over a month! ![]()
6. The sun shines into our kitchen room sometimes and the wind makes it hard to cook too.
Dining Hall
1. Dining hall is surprisingly windy. The wind broke my fav black-red vase last weekend. ![]()
2. The dining table is a bit too small for bigger gathering. However this seems to be the biggest piece which we can find lei.
3. The 3M stickers hang our canvas and photo frames very nicely! Easy stick on, no mess of drilling unsightly holes and they can be peeled off the wall be reused without taking down the paint too!
4. I really need artsy yet cheap plates and bowls to go with the beautiful dining table. Anyone knows where to get them? ![]()
5. I have been pursuading HB to get the string curtains at the entrence of our main door. However they dun come cheap!
6. The window opens to an unblocked view.
Living Room
1. The huge sofa set from cellini is the best choice which we have made. Its big, enough to hold up to 8-9 people in front of the TV.
2. Hb did a good job of mounting the speakers in the ceiling. The sound effect is awesome!
3. Phillips LCD TV is really cheap and good. Not tested with Xbox or PS3 yet thou…
4. The mosic Platform is seldom being used.
5. The living room is not as windly as the Dining Hall. However, the standing fan takes care of that easily.
6. The black out curtains are a good choice as we draw the curtains for the dark cinema-effect at times.
7. I find the width of the TV ledge a bit too thick. If its smaller then there is more room for movement.
8. The $50 coffee-table from cellini is very useful for our lunch, dinners infront of the TV.
9. The window opens to an unblocked view.
Toilets
1. Surprisingly, the toilets dun look too ugly to us anymore. Really glad we resisted the temptation to redo our toilets and save some $$.
2. I regretted not asking the aircon people to run the ugly aircon water pipes into the common toilet instead of the masterbedroom toilet.
Study Room
1. We are in urgent need for (black glossy) cabinets for our books books and barangs barangs! Anyone knows where to find it? ![]()
2. The walls are not flat! Hdb flat quality really CMI.
3. We find the study table a bit small even for a pint sized gal like me. My hb look like a giant besides it…
Masterbed Room
1. The sun shines into the room at times. Therefore we are glad that we made the right decision to install the aircon in MBR.
2. I am starting to feel that the wardrobe will be a bit too small for us to put our barangs barangs.
3. Bedside ledges are very useful to put handphones and clocks.
4. The walls are too bare.
5. The additional ceiling leading into our MBR is a great design decision by our ID. The halogen lights makes the place really romantic and cozy.
6. Our window side view is awesome! We can see the sea and Malaysia.
Store-room
1. Its really smaller as compared to the size of my mother’s storeroom.
2. It still need a storeroom rack.
3. The cheap hamburger light serves us well.
Others
My hb is really a supportive partner all these times during and after the reno process. He helped me a lot in the housework and I am pretty grateful to him.
He knows that I run on a mini-tur-bo-strength engine which dun have the power to even change the bedsheet, pillows and bloster sheets and so he willingly changes them for me. He mops the floor and cleans up the kitchen while I am busy with other tasks. He never once critise my aweful acrylic drawings and actually wants to hang them up on the walls. He never once grumble for droving me to Art-Fren countless times to get the many pieces of canvas which in end, was never being used.
These are the things that no amount of diamonds or roses can make up for.
